Some Of My Writing

A Passion For Story Telling

I have always loved writing; it lets me escape into a different world. I am currently rewriting some of the books I have written in the past. When these are available, I will post links here on my site to how you can get them, and also add a sample of each so you can see if you think you will enjoy them.

Below are two short stories that were originally written in serial form for some magazines, and another one written for children and anyone else who likes Teddy Bears. You can read them online by clicking on an image below or by clicking the Read More button. A new book is being finalised containing the first two and many more stories of our unlikely private detective, and you will soon be able to buy your own copy. A link will be placed here when it is ready. Or add yourself to my newsletter. There is also a short story for the younger among us. And for the young at heart, I hope.

I hope you enjoy them.

The Missing Parcel

OK, I know I should have just ignored it, if I had, I could have saved myself a great deal of hassle. But I'm nosy, and always looking for anything I can get, so when the phone rang in the middle of the night, I was tempted. Let me go back to that night.
I was asleep; I do that most nights. On my own, that's common as well, unfortunately. Then the phone rang and woke me up. I looked at the clock - 3am. And that's when I made my mistake and picked up the receiver. I think I wanted to shut it up as much as anything.

A New Career

It took a few weeks, but the throw away comment from the policeman when he had driven me home didn't stop nagging at me. "You should consider becoming a policeman with your curious mind," he had said. But I had never really been on that side of the fence. I wasn't a crook or anything like that, I just preferred to view the law in a more flexible way, you know, like a politician or a government adviser, if you know what I mean. So "join the police?" I was really not sure it was for me. But then I noticed this ad in a magazine.

The Attic - One For The Young

And the young at heart

As you all know, we teddies like to have fun when no one is looking, but the golden rule is that we must be back where we were left before our human returns. I am very lucky because my human, Mary, knows I have adventures when she is asleep or away, so it doesn’t matter much if I am in a different place when she finds me. But her parents don’t, of course, grown-ups seem to have forgotten somehow, so I have to remember to be in the right place if her mum leaves me somewhere.
