Many years ago, I lived and worked in Iran. Back then, the country was ruled by the Shah, a puppet leader put in place by the USA and the UK in order to ensure that both these countries had free access to the oil there. It was a lovely place to live with many modern facilities but in 1978/79, the revolution happened and the Shah was deposed. Something which, in a way, was right and proper, but what came in its wake was far worse for the people of Iran, a dictatorship using a twisted version of Islam as a tool to control, and often terrorise the people.

Since then, America has hated the loss of their puppet, the Shah, and now Israel and its well controlled US ally has attacked them. When Russia invaded Ukraine, Europe and even America offered support. Now, probably the two most dangerous terrorist countries on Earth, Israel and the USA are killing people and destroying a country that has never attacked them, causing untold damage to the region, and to the US itself.

What can we do? A question I constantly ask myself. There is not much, but I now avoid buying anything that is made in Israel or America, or which might be funding this illegal and immoral war. A small gesture, but what else do we have?
